Washington DC Cherry Blossom Festival

The cherry blossom festival in Washington DC is a true spectacle. I was fortunate enough to be one of the millions who visit DC every year during this time. If you ever get an opportunity you should visit this place… The prime blossom stays just for 3 or 4… So plan well in ahead.

Now about this picture… This picture is a panoramic view of the tidal basin. The cherry trees are basically all along the banks of the tidal basin… I took several pics and stitched them together in Photoshop Elements.  You can see the Washington Monument to the right and the  Jefferson memorial to your left.  One of the things I like about this picture is the depth that you see on the sky almost giving a 3D effect.

The below picture is a macro shot of a cherry blossom bunch… there was a little bud that was waiting for its turn… It was almost as if the little bud was a child sitting tight under its mom..

I hope you like them…

Be sure to rate these pics…

  1. HI! Any chance I can have the rights to your STUNNINg panoramic DC shot for my blog header called DC Urban Experiment that shows what happens when a family of 5 moves to DC to test out an urban life for a year. The link below is to the draft page of the site…I haven’t launched it yet.

    • Hi Andrea, please feel free to use it.. Obviously I am not able to see the details because it has not been launched yet. I would be keen to see how it comes out. Please let me know when launched. All the very best!
